Synthetic scales and yields

Polaris oligonucleotides offer various scale options to meet your quantity needs. For DNA, synthetic scales from 0.2 - 10 umol can be created in a single column, while larger orders will require multiple syntheses.

Yields obtained will vary depending on the project's nature and purification choices. A general guideline is to expect 20-30% yield for desalted oligonucleotides with minimal modifications. HPLC purification may halve this yield, and further reductions can occur with multiple purifications.

For each project and scale, we assess and provide yield guarantees based on project complexity. Any excess over the guarantee will be shipped at no charge if it's under 1 umol.

Alternatively, if a specific final material quantity is required, customers can provide this amount instead of selecting a scale, and we will adjust accordingly.

It is good to keep in mind that introducing modifications may decrease the yield significantly, so it is always best to start with a smaller scale when first ordering a highly modified oligonucleotide, to ensure feasibility.
